I recently met Kim Poole at theDead Money film premiere. She was fun to talk to and had this fantastic outfit on. I loved the mix of pattern and color. Her personality is gigantic just like her cool style.

Fall Fashion Campaigns

I am really excited about fall fashion and wearing layers again. Kmart has surprisingly stepped up with a cool and exciting commerical that uses a Public Enemy song called "Rise to the Top" as the background. It highlights everday people and ends with the brilliant tag line of "Money can't buy style". Love it. Also H&M has been running a great ad campaign. The styling has been great. The clothes are all classic shapes and colors. The background and camera work also helps alot. I love "Girls on Film" and how the film has three frames with the model doing different shots. It makes you excited about the clothes. Take a look below:

Korto Momolu

Korto was my favorite designer during season 5 of Project Runway. I loved her designs including the runway show. I felt the judges didn't fully understand what she was doing with African inspired design and missed the mark in their jugding of her runway show. She is very fashion forward. I would love to wear her pieces. In her Spring 2011 collection, I love the off centered style of most of the designs. In particular, I would love to wear the draped pantsuit, and the yellow and gray two piece outfit. Can't wait to see what she does for this season. She still has it!

Update: She had two shows recently--one during New York Fashion week and one in Washington, DC during their Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Expo. I am so glad to see this. Love all the looks from fashion week.

I was checking out another fabulous blogger Andrea Pippins, and she shared a link to a video about the amazing work of Nic Fish. She is a designer based in Philadelphia. I love her new collection called "Thelona". In particular, I want the black pantsuit! The silhouettes are great and I want all of the earrings! I just love it! Take a look at the video. I love that they talk about the value found in thrifting and how illogical it is to pay $200 for an acrylic sweater when you can buy real wool for far less. Also how other people influence our style through mass marketing and advertising--interesting. Love this... I must visit their shop.
